Download

What do you download? I download patterns for crafts, silly songs, alphabet sheets for the kids and recipes. Josh downloads more practical stuff like sermons, antivirus updates, software updates and instructions for replacing the serpentine belt on our car. One place he goes very regularly to keep our computer running is Download.com. When I came to bed last night he was reading through all the latest info on the site, including music news.....there is a new R.E.M. CD coming out soon and he was hoping to see something about that. They only mentioned R.E.M. but they played a song by a girl named Duffy that I really enjoyed. I added her temporarily to my playlist so you could get a listen. Josh thought she sounded like Dusty, and you know me...can't remember anything so he had to find a Dusty song to convince me I knew a few of her songs. That got him started down the music bunny trail and he started pulling up all sorts of Techno Dance music that he thought I would recognise. Why would I recognise it? Ah, because he knew Scott Sowell had made me a bunch of mixed tapes and he was guessing what Scott had put on them. He was mostly right. But that started a download of different proportions that brings tears to my eyes before I even start to go there. How much we have all changed and all stayed the same.

It is weird how we have all grown up, but there are parts of us that will never change. You couldn't pay me any amount of money to relive my teenage years, but oh the memories and fun we had.

I saw your link to Dinner Tonight. You must have watched Martha. I just recently watched an episode of Everyday Foods on PBS and was blown away at how easy their recipes looked. I haven't actually tried any of them but I can't wait to try.

It wasn't simply 'Dusty', but Dusty Springfield.

The boys ask to turn on Martha everyday at 11 and eat lunch...it's a very good thing.
