What does pampering mean?
Last week I asked for a day off and was given almost 5. I say almost because I did spend several hours working in the yard on Saturday doing Fay cleanup and I did do a few dishes and a couple of loads of laundry but for the most part my DH took most of the home front responsibilities.
While we were watching the monotonous coverage of the tropical storm, a piece came on about pampering. I wasn't even paying much attention but Josh made the comment that it's always about pampering yourself and not someone else. I think I was guilty of that these last couple of days.
I got to go to my favorite thrift store by myself .
Went to Sweet Tomatoes with Susan and Tracy.
Walked around Towne Center for hours with Susan and Mary.
Oh my, where are my priorities?
ME
should be
less of me, more of God
Or do you suppose it is to no purpose that the Scripture says, "He yearns jealously over the spirit that he has made to dwell in us"?
But he gives more grace." James 4:5-6a
Amen

I just thought it was an interesting insight to our culture that whenever you hear the term 'pamper' it instantly implies allowing yourself to be pampered via some spa experience, etc, but I doubt it ever conjures up the idea of providing the pampering to someone else.
emily,
you really shouldn't feel bad. josh just wanted to pamper you.
smiles....
imagine if we truly thought of others before ourselves. i keep wanting to try this little experiment with my family, but I can't seem to get it started. ummm....okay, that's enough introspective thinking for one day.
Thanks Robin
If there was not a 'pampered' then how would a 'pamper-er' receive a Blessing.
Enjoy!!
