Shag carpet memories

Oh Lord, You're beautiful,
Your face is all I seek.
For when Your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.
Oh Lord, please light the fire,
That once burned bright and clear.
Replace the lamp of my first love,
That burns with Holy Fear.
I want to take Your love and shine it all around,
But first help me just to love it, Lord.
And if I'm doing well help me never seek a crown,
For my reward is giving glory to You!
Oh Lord, You're beautiful,
Your face is all I seek.
For when Your eyes are on this child,
Your grace abounds to me.

This morning we sang a Keith Greene song that I remember singing in youth group. I could picture us all sitting in floor with red shag carpeting by that big window and Ron at the piano. Seems like there were some funny inflections that we used to do when we weren't in a serious mood, but maybe that was the other song with Glorify in it. When I looked for the lyrics to copy today I found part of the song normally isn't sung in church but it really should because they're great. Some things survive the years and some don't...like last lines and shag carpet.
The apartment we lived in for 6 years had shag carpet with brown black and white loops. That carpet would hide dirt like nobodies business...I'm thinkin if we ever have carpet installed that I may just go shag.
Anyway, do you have shag carpet memories?

What a safe place that littel chapel was with its red shag carpet.

That chapel was a little piece of heaven. I sure do remember some really special times there.

Being in that Chapel with that group was truly a blessing in my life. It forever changed me and my relationship with Jesus. I love my memories of that time in my life!
