Several months ago I ran across the Leaking Window when she was giving away a Robin Jones Gunn book. Did I win it? No. But the way she described it, I knew it was a must read. Did I go out and get it right away? No. But when I wanted a book to take on our cruise I remembered it. While I was standing in line to vote, #1 and #2 sons were sent on a mission. Did they find it? No. But they found 6! I have only read two of them, Sisterchicks on the Loose and SisterChicks say Ooh La La!. Did I like them? YES! In SisterChicks say Ooh La La!, two friends that have known each other since childhood take a trip to Paris when they are in their late 30's. I loved the way she described their friendship growing up, the awkwardness of sharing/living out your faith, doubts, insecurities, and SILLINESS. It perfectly captures the silliness I shared with Susan while we were shopping on Sunday, or the silliness I remember sharing with Robin in Tallahassee, or Jenette, or Tavia, or Gloria....and I'm sure if I ever spent some one on one time with Gigi or Melissa, there would be the same silliness. So if you are looking for a fun book to read, enjoy armchair traveling, encouragement in your faith then I really think you would enjoy this book. Did I mention that I am VERY PICKY about the books I read....so much so that for over a year I quit reading? Out of all the blog hopping I do, Sister Sherri's blog is the only one I have added to my list of time wasters that isn't a crafty blog or have a well known name. Picky, Picky, Picky.

My mom loves that series, she's read every one of those books. I haven't read one, but next time I'm looking for something, I'll pick it up. Thanks for the info. It's ok to be picky about some things. If you're picky about friends, I'm sure glad I'm one of them.
I have seen these books, but have yet to pick one up. Thanks for the recommendation.
We'd soooooo be silly.....totally....giggle, giggle.
The books sound good...it is so hard to find a good nice read these days. Most of the time they are just...I don't know...they don't grab my attention, or they are the same story I've read a hundred times just with different names....or too intense for what I want. These sound perfect...thanks for sharing!
i love your book recommendations. one of my all time favorites is So Big...which i read on your recommendation.
Oh, my! I about flipped over when I read your post! Thank you for the encouragement. And I am so glad you enjoyed the Sisterchick series. Unfortunately, I've taken a couple days off. I am not feeling well... thanks for your prayers.
