If it weren't for Gloria

If it weren't for Gloria I wouldn't be in a book club. She went to the first book club discussion and she went to the second and she read the third book before I even investigated what it was about. Well, of course after reading her review of the book and her reminder that book club was meeting this week I quick got the book and read to where I was supposed to read.

The Guersney Literary and Potato Peel Society by Mary Ann Shaffer and Annie Burrows

Lovely

But then again, historical ficton has always been a winner.

It's a collection of letters between friends so you here the voices of different the characters and the shortness of the letters lends itself to easy reading.

Put it on hold at the library... only 120 requests before mine... but they have 60 copies.

I'm with you - historical fiction is always a winner with me. I feel less guilt for indulging in a good story because at least it has some history in it!
