There is mercy

This is reposted from last year. Tonight we are having a bonfire to remember.
The song we sang in church today fit perfectly:
You make beautiful things out of dust...You make beautiful things out of us.

Psalm 130
Out of the deep have I called unto thee, O Lord;
Lord, hear my voice
O let your ears consider well
the voice of my complaint.
If thou, Lord, wilt be extreme to mark what is done amiss,
O Lord, who may abide it?
For there is mercy with thee,
therefore shalt thou be feared.
I look for the Lord; my soul doth wait for him;
My soul fleeth unto the Lord before the morning watch;
I say before the morning watch.
O Isreal, trust in the Lord,
for with the Lord there is mercy,
and with him is plenteous redemption.
And he shall redeem Israel
from all his sins.

Yesterday I had a two hour lay over in D.C. Normally I take a book traveling and this time I took the Book of Common Prayer. The last two funerals I have been to were Episcopal services and it brought me so much comfort. The prayers in it are straight from the Bible and it has the Psalms...however it is in King James. I also took my mp3 player and listened to Before the Throne of God and Crown of Thorns while I read and cried. Yep, just sat in the D.C. terminal with tears streaming down my face for losing my Godbaby and for my sister losing her first born and for God's mercy which is surely with us. It's the truth and that is what I needed to set my eyes on. The blessed thing is that my sister and brother-in-law know the truth too and through their tears and heartache are sharing it with all the kids that mourning the loss of their friend. There is mercy.
The service is Wednesday morning...

Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you. For everyone who asks receives; he who seeks finds; and to him who knocks, the door will be opened.
Matthew 7 : 7-8

Oh, dear! I am so sorry! I love the verses you posted previously... verses we need to memorize and understand and believe when we don't so much need them... so that what we do need them... we don't even have to think about whether we do or not.

That's what I will be praying for you. Comfort. And your precious family and friends. Comfort.

With love and hugs, Sheri
