Let it rise

Started to do the dishes after I took the boys to school and before I took Elise to school but the radio interupted me between emptying the dish drainer and washing up the breakfast bowls and mugs. It was a song by Big Daddy Weave...which I saw this past summer after a baseball game and wasn't that impressed with but enjoy their songs on the radio well enough.

Let the glory of the Lord rise among us
Let the glory of the Lord rise among us
Let the praises of the King rise among us
Let it rise

Let the songs of the Lord rise among us
Let the songs of the Lord rise among us
Let the joy of the King rise among us
Let it rise

I wondered if the song was from any certain scripture?

We create lots of songs and we create praise but the song this morning got me thinking that the songs are really us reflecting the Lord's song. Instead of it being something in us receiving or to take it itn or take part in, it is around us. As I put it down "on paper" it doesn't sound any different than what I already knew but somewhere in my head it is different. I thought that by immediately typing it out I wouldn't lose the thoughts but evidently I have. If I read through Psalm 95-99 I'm sure I would find more references to the song but it is now to time to take Elise to school.

“Arise, shine; for your light has come, And the glory of the Lord has risen upon you. For behold, darkness will cover the earth AND deep darkness the peoples; But the Lord will rise upon you and His glory will appear upon you. Nations will come to your light, and Kings to the brightness of your rising.”

Isaiah 60:1-3

"When the heart is firm in faith and love, the tongue, being employed in grateful praises, is our glory. Every gift of the Lord honours and profits the possessor, as it is employed in God's service and to his glory. Believers may pray with assured faith and hope, for all the blessings of salvation; which are secured to them by the faithful promise and covenant of God. Then let them expect from him help in every trouble, and victory in every conflict. Whatever we do, whatever we gain, God must have all the glory. Lord, visit all our souls with this salvation, with this favour which thou bearest to thy chosen people." Matthew Henry on the Psalm 108:1-13

Psalm 108:5 Be exalted, O God, above the heavens!
Let your glory be over all the earth!

I love when I'm reading in the Bible... and I recognize a song that I've heard.
