Precious oil

Unity
Psalm 33
1 Behold, how good and pleasant it is
when brothers dwell in unity!a
2 It is like the precious oil on the head,
running down on the beard,
on the beard of Aaron,
running down on the collar of his robes!
3 It is like the dew of Hermon,
which falls on the mountains of Zion!
For there the Lord has commanded the blessing,
life forevermore.

Besides Josh and I, there were seven other people from our church that went to  the Czech Republic.
We didn't really know much about any of them.
Some of them we liked and wished we had more time to spend with them but we didn't know their stories.
Marshall Brown, the missionary that lives in Celakovice kept remarking on our unity.
He kept saying how much that added to our mission.
At first I thought how wrong he was, we didn't even know each other!
But then after a couple of days I noticed that none of us were getting annoyed with each other, we were all having a good time together, we were praying the same prayers...on the last day Cathryn Brown even prayed the same verse that I had been thinking of minutes before and then the whole unity idea resonated with me.  This is unity, we all have the same mind, the same scriptures are working in us.
By the end of the trip I did learn a lot more about the 7 others that joined us.
Walking up a mountain road, standing at the campfire handing out American products to make smores, wandering through the streets of Prague, sitting in airports....those were all excellent times to hear about their struggles and successes in life and appreciate their humor.
I laughed a lot.
There was a sweet oil running down our beards and the collar of our robes and it was precious indeed. That was the success of this trip.
We did see people's hearts changed, and I pray that they will continue to be drawn into the household of faith and join in with the family of faith worshipping in Celakovice.
John 13:35 "By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.”
1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is from God, and whoever loves has been born of God and knows God."
