A gift from the sea

The sea does not reward those who are too anxious, too greedy, or too impatient. One should lie empty, open, choiceless as a beach - waiting for a gift from the sea.

-Anne Morrow Lindbergh

Today we made it to the beach. We met up with a couple of boys from the swim team and of course we also took Yohanna. 6 boys splashing around the ocean, trying out the surfboard, skimboard, body surfing, and digging. We left the beach at 1 and stoped at my mom's house on the way home and took turns mowing her yard. Unfortunately to reward the boys for helping me I got klondikes from freezer and one said to me that I should have one too and the voice sounded so practical and cooling and refreshing I ate it up. BUT I did walk tonight while the boys were at swim practice so maybe it didn't set me back too bad. I really want to eat something right now though. Popcorn just came out of the microwave and the buttery salty smell is alluring but alas I really don't like popcorn. I always feel like a cat with a hairball after eating a handful. A glass of cold water will be wonderful.

I ate a Zinger today....But I figure that I'm doing better than I would be if I didn't have to post my 'fatself' on the web next week.
Love the beach photos
