Commitment

Proverbs 16:3 "Commit to the LORD whatever you do,
and your plans will succeed."

What am I commiting to Him? My weightloss/eating right; my attitude; new furniture; or am I commiting to God my whole heart and mind and effort...? Am I commiting myself to him or just specific items and keeping the rest to work out at a later date? What are you commited to?

I know what I need to be committed to, what I need to commit to the Lord. Most of the time, if I'm honest, I'm committed to me and the things I like, want, desire, 'need'...

Wow....I just looked up that verse tonight. I wrote a note to a friend telling her that I had so many thoughts in my head that I was trying to sort out. It hit me ....there sure were a lot of "I's" in that statement! It was a big reality check, I thought to myself.... where is my loving, all-knowing, all powerful God in all my "I" thoughts?

I am a very selfish person. I realize this every time I get mad at my kids for interrupting me while I'm blogging!

I was reading your blog while listening to 'If I had a million dollars' and remembering the time we last spent at the river touring the brand new home of your cousin full of brand new everything.
I felt bad for not being able to give you a brand new larger home full of brand new everything...but I didn't feel bad for long.
It's just me talking, but I wouldn't trade all they have and don't have for all you do have.
What you have is priceless and are treasures stored up for eternity.
Well done, good and faithful servant.
