We had a field trip to St. Augustine today. Our friends the Troisi's who are also doing FLVA drove up from Palm Bay so put some flesh on our recent history lessons. We went through the Junior Ranger program at the fort and all the kids got their badges and then we saw the cannons fired...man are they loud. One of the re-en actors told us those cannons can shoot accurately up to 3 and 1/2 miles. Elise spent the day with Gramma making cookies and keeping busy so to keep out of trouble.

the 4th graders in leon county go to st. augustine, but it is a VERY rushed day! sounds like you had a relaxed day.
Those photos are great! I love the fort. St. Augustine is a great town.
