Family Effort

The display model prelit tree we picked up last year wouldn't lite this year. My mom and Josh worked diligently taking off the lights for days and then Josh put on some new ones, the kids decorated it and Viola! I put out the other decorations and just like that we have holiday cheer. John-Thomas was 2 and Stewart was a little baby when we got a Christmas sing-a-long video from the post office (of all places) and the kids had that playing while they were decorating and it was a lovely morning. Of course that meant they were doing school work after dinner but they didn't seem to mind. So many memories singing out their story as I took them out the box.

christmas lights, aren't they soooo much fun? i was talking to michael's brother yesterday and he said he wanted to invent a tree that has lights IN the branches. but, what would happen when the lights went out? i just love that skinny tree. i really want a skinny tree, too. our tree was in my mother's office in palm beach. i'll have to look after christmas this year for a bargain.

what do you mean when they were done with ornaments. did you just ask if you could purchase it?

My mom was working at CB last year and she alerted me to the post season sale.

what a gorgeous tree. we have a tiny fake one up since we are going to Arkansas. No time to decorate, really. Nope, not knitting ornaments...just scarves and hats and such. had to keep the picture vague so the recipients couldn't guess. :)
