Maid Service

Today the maid came. She vacuumed, cleaned the bathroom, including behind the toilet. She did dishes, straightened the bookshelves in the boys's room and walked the dog. This happens every Thursday whether the boys like it or not. You see they have to pick up everything off their floor before the maid can vacuum...lots of Lego's and Bioncle pieces everywhere. Usually Elise is compliant because she likes to vacuum her own room but today the threat of someone else cleaning her room for her is being used. Once my mom followed through on that threat and bagged up all my stuff on my floor/closet and took it to the dumpster. Do you have any childhood memories of cleaning?

okay, wait...hold the phone. do you really have a maid? i've seriously been thinking about it, but then thought it was too indulgent. however, if emily has a maid...then it must be okay, right?

Wait, are you the maid?

Contrary to a previous comment, I do not have a uniform and not only that but he isn't even home on Thursdays to see all my cleaning efforts....and if something comes up in the schedule that conflicts with my cleaning...the cleaning lady doesn't come...so the best day to visit me is on Friday if I have been able to clean on Thursday...otherwise you would be totally grossed out by our living conditions!

say it ain't so, joe...you don't have a maid? URG....i had a small glimmer of hope. maybe i will still hold out hope of someday getting a maid. maybe i'll have to list the pros and cons....

Thanks Robin...I almost choked on my snack size microwave popcorn! By the time I'll be able to get a maid, the kids will be grown and there won't be a mess anymore.

You gave me a glimmer of hope and then snatched it away! Like Robin...my first thought was - hold up, if Emily has a maid then why the heck am I knee deep in swiffers and vacuuming! Oh well, back to the house chores I go then.....
