Something old, something new

A week ago I dropped Elise off for ballet and decided to jog down Kernan from McCormick toward Atlantic. The weather was perfect, I had a my new mp3 player for the first time in a year I was in the zone. When I was 2/3 of the way to Atlantic, a dog shows up out of nowhere and starts jogging with me. I get to my turn around point and the dog turns around with me. As I pass several different joggers I asked them if the dog belonged to them? I asked the kids playing football outside of a subdivision if the dog belonged to them? The dog gets a sticker in her foot and stops so I stop and get the sticker out and she is so gentle and appreciative of effort. What do I do now, do I say go home cut adorable dog and hope she finds her way home and not get hit (it's dark now) or do I see if she'll go home with me and try to find her owner from the safety of my home? She jogged with me all the way back to McCormick and gladly hopped in my van. My mom made a sign and I took it up to Publix and I put an ad in the paper and posted it on Craigslist and called Animal Control. Animal Control gave me her name, Gretta and two phone numbers that don't work. So, it's not just my old Christmas decorations that beautifying my house this Christmas but a sweet dog that mostly gets a long with our Cocker Spaniel, Bayly. And if you can get a long with Bayly then that is a very good thing because she is a little neurotic. Right now, Bayly is on one end of the couch and Gretta is on the other...the side nearest to the tree.

"It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas...."

There is a post to the picture now! I was wondering about the dog....So you got adopted too! Buttercup showed up at our door and adopted us - her sweet gentle ways won us right over and now she is our baby #3. So it sounds like the owners had contacted animal control?? They just didn't give working numbers?? Gretta saw you and knew you would keep her safe and love her - if I was a lost dog and saw you, I'd follow you home too!
