As children of God we have been pursued since the the beginning of time by a loving heavenly Father and as heirs of His righteousness we have the blessing to reflect that pursuit.
and yet....
....unless the Spirit moves on me I don't pursue relationships.
A few months ago I mentioned that our church had a women's brunchy thing and I didn't want to go.
I also knew that a certain lady in our church also detests ladies things but I enjoy EvEry single conversation I have ever had with her and would really like to spend more time with her so I asked her if she would go?
Uhhh, No...I don't fit in, ladies at this church don't get me,  she said.
Everyone feels that way I said.
She didn't belive me so I grabbed the first lady that was going past us and asked if she felt like women got her. And you know she looked at me like...duh, of course not but she was much more diplomatic.
I bring this up again because their are several women in our small group who feel like they don't belong/don't have a connection/we don't get them...whatever.
Yesterday at the small group leader's meeting, they told us we are to pursue everyone in the is our duty and if we don't do it then maybe we shouldn't be leaders.
So I stood up and said “Cat, K-A-T, I’m outta here.” . (It's from a Brian Regan comedy sketch)
Not really, but honestly I am not a pursuer.  Both small groups I have been at, I have gone for two years and after that commitment then the relationships started to form.  And last year when Josh wanted to answer the call to start a small group...I was all like, good for YOU.
I'm sure it would be a whole lot better if I made more effort but that's just not how I roll.  Josh regularly asks me if I've called my friend lately? And then he'll say, you need to call your friend.
Last night I told the ladies that I didn't have anything against them and hoped they did.
All this is rattling around in my brain whilst doing the Beth Moore study on A Woman's Heart, God's Dwelling Place.
That's where I'm at this week.
Where are you at?
From everlasting to everlasting the Lord's love is with those who fear him, and his righteousness with their children's children.
Psalm 103 : 17

Oh my Gosh Emily, I just sat down to write a blog entry that has been bouncing around me head on this EXACT same subject! But before I did I thought I would check your blog out first and I might as well "cute and paste" your entry as my own.

This is so true... as women we don't feel we fit in... and that we each have different personalities... and different styles... wonder why being a woman is so hard?

I meant "cut and paste" but I guess you kinda figured that out....
