Before and After

If a tree falls in your yard and you're not there, did it make a noise?
Sunday we were gone for most of the day and when we got home we found that our oak standing sentinel along our back fence had been blown over. It didn't hit any buildings, but it encompassed most of our yard. If you have seen our yard you know what that means. The limbs stretched from where you see Emmett all the way past the dog at the now broken lemon tree. Pictures don't even come close to showing the enormity of the tree. The kids have had BIG fun playing and bouncing in the fallen limbs. Today the tree chopper-uppers came and the kids almost started to cry, they were depressed all day. The tree cutters left at 6 tonight and still hadn't finished, tomorrow they will try cutting up the widest part of the trunk, that should be fun to watch, wonder how many chains they will go through?

Wow! It's no wonder with the wind as crazy as it was. We were heading out for church on Sunday evening and a tree snapped in two just shy of our chicken pen! We actually witnessed it and it did make a noise! It was very loud! I'm so thankful the tree didn't fall on your house! That's a fear of mine. God continues to protect....

We had a situation like that a couple years ago. The only tree to stand in our backyard fell over onto our van. When we went outside you couldn't see our van. It was like it had vanished. Luckily once we removed it piece by piece there wasn't even a scratch on the van. Thank you Jesus.

Goodness gracious! What a sight! I can see why the kids would be sad, it looks like an awesome jungle gym or jungle fort.
