Yumm-O!

Over this past summer we had Yohanna (the son of Sudanese refugee) stay with us durring the week so his dad could go to classes and I wouldn't have to drive to his house everyday to pick him up. While he was with us he loved the fresh bread I made in the bread machine and even showed an interest in making it himself. So a couple of weeks ago I picked up a machine for him at Salvation Army.
I posted last week about a great roll recipe from the HillyBilly Housewife. Over the weekend, John-Thomas spent the night at Yohanna's house and together they made the rolls, only Yohanna didn't actually want rolls so they put the dough into a bread pan and cooked it in the oven for 10 minutes on 400 and said they turned out great.
Friday night was Yohanna's 12th birthday and I made him a cake using this recipe. It was the absolutely best cake I have ever made. It tasted like an old fashioned homemade cake....so moist, appropiately dense, not too sweet but decadent enough. Fortunately we took the cake to his house and left it there for Yohanna and John-Thomas to finish it off. Those skinny boys could use it far more than I do.
Alright, that's all for today...what are you making for dinner?
