Jumble in the light

The Gleaners by Jean-Francois Millet

I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness,
but will have the light of life.
John 8 : 12

Even in my/your darkest times can you imagine that we have "never walked in darkness".
As followers, we always have the light. I don't think we can know true darkness on this side of eternity. After all, there are always little lights all around us sharing their light of life.

Makes me think of the DC Talk song, "In the light"
I wanna be in the Light
As You are in the Light
I wanna shine like the stars in the heavens
Oh, Lord be my Light and be my salvation
Cause all I want is to be in the Light
All I want is to be in the Light

The disease of self runs through my blood
It's a cancer fatal to my soul
Every attempt on my behalf has failed
To bring this sickness under control

Tell me, what's going on inside of me?
I despise my own behavior
This only serves to confirm my suspicions
That I'm still a man in need of a Savior

This morning a friend posted a poem on Facebook by Robert Murry McCheyne.
I have not enjoyed verse in a long, long time....

Yesterday, Josh was rear-ended in his city truck and Stewart was diagnosed with Swine Flu. Emmett needed a steroid for his asthma. Today Elise had her kindergarten awards ceremony and John-Thomas is going to a middle school Young Life club camp and is taking Yohanna in Stewart's place. If this post seems like a jumble, it is merely a reflection of my life.

Love tobymac! Looks like you are having a pretty tough day... I'll be praying you are able to do a little gleaning today... and feel the light on your face.
